Geography Journal Number Five

What do garlic and early morning have in common?
Not breakfast. The aroma of garlic can be smelled
during the coolest time in the morning. I did not
know that until it was mentioned. One day after
that, though, I definitely smelled it and it was really
clear. When I think back, I realized that I would
smell food outside sometimes. I just thought that
people were cooking delicious breakfast. Gilroy
apparently processes garlic now. The wind coming
from the northwest is supposedly very strong, so
that is why the strong scent of garlic is carried in
the air, and it can be smelled in certain areas.
I wonder if anybody else notices the early morn-
ing scent. Speaking of garlic in Gilroy, I have been
to the Garlic Festival twice. I really like eating the
garlic popcorn. I have never tried the garlic ice
cream that everyone seems to talk about. I should
one day, especially since the festival always takes
place in super hot weather. The heat makes it hard
to have fun.
